She was the first to start a music workshop called Rhythm & Bloom at the Braddock Carnegie Library in Braddock, PA and has a special interest in music programming in libraries and fostering equity in arts education.
Having studied Suzuki piano since the age of 5 and Suzuki violin from age 10, her Suzuki training naturally led to certification in teaching Suzuki violin. Jessica is a registered Suzuki teacher in violin for books 1-10. In addition to violin and piano she has studied harpsichord and upright bass. Her principle teachers include Hye-Jin Kim (ECU), Joanne Bath (ECU), Lon Sherer (Goshen College), Michael Jamanis, Elizabeth Hess, Cheryl Gingrich, JoAnn Wagstaff, and Cheryl Yerkes.
In addition to loving music, Jessica enjoys tinkering around the house, growing figs, camping and campfires, eating local food, discovering new music, looking for seashells at the beach, busking, and spending time with her family.
